Randy is a class coach from what I read the past few years.  I think we all agree there is a talent gap between the two programs and by the Canes being ranked in the Top 15 or so indicate they are a top tier program this year.  It'll be interesting to see Miami vs Ohio $tate in Columbus in a few weeks.

"you sound bout crazy... Miami could have WHATEVER they wanted against FAMU.  They could have EASILY scored over 100 points.  You were playing against Freshmen and redshirt freshmen the entire second half." Grin laugh

Some of tha FAMU D-1 Kool-Aid is still floating around! lol

YYYYYY you ask?

NSU vs Rutgers - $325,000
Hampton vs WM - probably $300,000 (that's what I heard we would have gotten to play them)
FAMU vs Miami -  probably $300,000 or more
SC State vs Ga Tech -probably $300,000 or more
Presbyterian vs Wafe Forest - $300,000 or more

You do the math then ask why again. Oh, and don't forget the $1.4 MILLI Shocked N Ohio State is gonna pay Colorado!

Miami could have scored a lot more points.  My concern is our coaching staff could not make any adjustments.  I saw a talented Rattler football team get out coached.  Defensively FAMU just did not know where to lineup.  I think the players are talented but just not prepared to play. Not talking about winning but competing. This problem will continue to show up even  when the HBCU schedule begins.  Defense will continue to be an issue the entire year.

Yeah, ESPN showed that highlight when FAMU was attempting to call a timeout because they were not lined up correctly. They didn't get the timeout and the result was a Miami receiver was left
UNC Shocked VERED and trotted right downfield, caught the pass and ran into the endzone untouched!

I have been preaching that for the LONGEST but no one wants to listen to me.  We (HBCUs) have had a tremendous amount of talent these last 10 years and could have been extremely successful against PWCs.  We always get out-coached and find ways to lose.  I'm sick of it.   tiptoe

If I'm not mistaken, FAMU received $600K for their game against Miami!!

.....you're preaching to the choir playa - believe me - you're preaching to the choir.....
As I've said on another board, these FCS vs FBS matchups don't annoy me.  What annoys me is when we get these 6-figure checks to "improve our programs" ---- yet get our asses whupped just as bad against good FCS schools during the regular season or the playoffs.  Angry Angry
That just doesn't compute to me......

That is more than what they would be getting from the LB Bowl.
