I was told a few minutes ago that supermarkets will donate food for a tailgate if you ask. You Cats ever done that with your local markets? I've never heard of such but  if this is something they typically do, I will certainly ask.  shrug

Supermarkets will give donations to local events $20.00 with no questions asked. However, larger donations require a little political clout.

I have never requested donations for a tailgate.  In group that I tailgate with, once the menu is sent out via email, people sign up for the the items that they will each contribute.   It is a group effort that works out pretty well.   nod

However, when I was with a former employer, I became acquainted with Publix Store Mgrs.    Through that relationship, my alumni chp requested and received deli trays for a student recruitment event.  And noooooo, they items were not old or expired.  The trays were freshly prepared.   nod

Based solely on that look you gave Lide, I would never ever cross you in any way whatsoever.  If you came to me requesting a deli tray, you'd get filet mignon sammiches with freshly prepared horseradish sauce, just a dash of cracked peppercorns, grey poupon mustard and fresh baked rolls....with white linen napkins to boot....
