TNAA National Convention July 29-August 1Following the 1881 founding of Tuskegee (Institute) University, the Tuskegee National Alumni Association (TNAA) was organized in 1885. In observance of the 125th Year, the Association announces a grand convention celebration.
The 14th Biennial Convention will be held at the Kellogg Conference Center, Tuskegee University Campus, July 29-August 1, 2010.Thursday, July 29, 2010•Historic Tour and Tuskegee Airmen Museum Tour (10 a.m.).
•Convention Opening Session (7 p.m.).
•“Jazz Under the Stars” With Picnic/Welcome Reception (7:45 p.m., $25 admission).
Friday, July 30, 2010•Cleve Abbott Memorial Breakfast, Jay “Skywalker” Walker, Speaker (7:30 a.m., $25 admission.
•Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies, Logan and Margaret Murray Washington Halls (9:30 a.m.).
•Presidential Alumni Dialogue Luncheon (noon, $50 admission).
•TNAA 125th Anniversary Celebration Concert, Featuring “Ray, Goodman and Brown” Formerly the “The Moments” (7:30 p.m., $20 admission).
Saturday, July 31, 2010•TNAA Past Presidents and 125th Anniversary Brunch, Dr. Charlotte Morris (Interim President), Speaker (11 a.m., $35 admission).
•Crimson and Gold Banquet, General Charles Williams, Speaker (7 p.m., $75 admission).
Sunday, August 1, 2010•Memorial Services and Breakfast, Rev. Mignonne Snipes speaker (7:30 a.m., $25 admission).
A full agenda of association business, workshops, games, tournaments and other social functions will be woven into the Convention. Family activities for all, including children, will be a prime highlight.
As noted, tickets are required for several events. However, admission to all activities is included in the fully paid registration pack.
Registration and sale of individual tickets for any event will be available at the On-Site Registration Desk.
The convention celebration theme is: “Tuskegee Alumni: Empowered by Change, Commitment and Service.”
Leadership of the TNAA includes Kimberly Woodard, president, and Shawn Brewer, 1st Vice President and Convention Planning Committee Chairman.
