That has happened at least 3 times in our HBCU Conference Tournaments this year. That's why the games are played  nod

I think the conf tournament winners should never play in that dreaded play in game.  they should pit the last two at large teams in that game for the right to get their domes caved in by the #1 overall seed.

I think regular season conference champions should get automatic bids to the NCAA Tournament. JSU was 17-1 in the SWAC or something like that, but because they lost yesterday they can't go to the Big Dance.

There is no rule that says every conference has to hold a conference tournament. But America is a country that bows to money and ignores the best interest of its people at nearly every turn.

And at the same time, conference tournaments are a part of NCAA Basketball. If JSU would have done their part and won they would have went to the NCAA Tournament. Again, it's part of NCAA Basketball at all levels.

Clearly enough people in the front office don't believe eliminating a conference tournament is in the best interest of the SWAC.

JSU did. They went 17-1 in league play during the regular season. You are obviously a smart person. Why should a team like Grambling, who was 4-14 in SWAC play during the regular season have a other opportunity to make the NCAA Tournament?

If having conference tournaments were part of basketball, why doesn't the Ivy League hold one?

Why shouldn't they have an opportunity? They are playing through the same schedule (regular season then conference tournament) 30 out of 31 (outside of the Ivy League) conference are. Your argument is ithe SWAC doesn't want their lone rep being a 4 - 14 team, which is their perogative.

But don't make it seem like conference tournaments aren't part of NCAA Basketball. You're kidding and shi bulling yourself if u continue to go with this theory. Again, 30 out of 31 implies a conference doesn't have to have a tournament but it's part of NCAA Basketball. And in D2 all the conferences have a tournament. Probably D3 and NAIA as well.

This is not the year for the SWAC to campaign for that. They have shown during the regular season that they were not able to hang and now they are not even going to send their best team.

Go to Dayton and try not to embarrass yourself   no
