It is good to see you people have know clue what the Joint Strike Fighter Program is about.  You people are so ignorant.  You people confirm over and over again that your test scores were not anywhere close enough to get a waiver for the Air Force.

Cholly, if the Joint Strike Fighter Program is an Air Force platform how did a Marine General get fired?

lol

Reading is fundamental.  The fired general is a Marine.  It is Marine incompetence.  The three star replacement will either be from the Air Force or Navy.  Hopefully, Gates will select an Air Force fighter pilot.  We will see.

Someone should tell Gates the only time the Marines ever do anything right is when an Army General tells them what to do.
Yes reading is fundamental. One who's interested in intelligent dialog would note that Gates also fired other Generals. More Christmas tree dressed Generals (Army) have been relived from duty in recent history that any other Generals from other branches.

I saw  incompetency 1st. hand of the Army leadership( 1st. Calvery.)while serving in Nam. Semper FI

If I misquoted..sorry. What I recall is that other Generals have also been fired that were not related with the Joint Strike Fighter Program.
My primary response was to the statement that a Marine only gets it right when told by the Army....

Cholly, the Air Force is not the lead branch in the Joint-Strike Fighter Program.

Cholly, if the Air Force was the lead branch a Marine General would have never been in charge of the program.  The Marine General being fired is proof enough.

y, the JSF is  a development and acquisition program. Thus the service of the PM is immaterial. BTW the Marine general may have been an aviator.

B4l, the Army has aviators.  The Marines will use the platform.  This is not an Air Force only platform.  Also, other countries have put money into the development of this platform.
