Bishop David G. Evans, Lincoln Alum, and new Chairman of the Board of Trustees is the keynote speaker as Lincoln recognizes students for outstanding academic acheivement at Honors Convocation, today.

The event is being presented as a formal occasion with full academic regalia.  A reception for honored students, members of their families and other guests will be held at the center following the convocation.

Dr. Ivory V. Nelson, PhD. stated "We're pleased that the first event in our new International Cultural Center recognizes the academic talents of our students."

David G. Evans – bishop, pastor, author, television and radio host, music producer, economist, businessman, banker and visionary – defies all the titles he has earned with distinction. He is a self-described man on a mission. He accepted the pastorate of a tiny church in New Jersey and in less than 20 years has transformed Bethany Baptist Church from 29 members into a 27,000-member congregation that boasts one of the more diversified memberships in the nation. Bishop Evans is author of the critically acclaimed 2005 book, Healed Without Scars, which sold over 400,000 copies.  His new book, Dare to be a Man, was released this fall. In addition, he has created five DVD teaching series and is seen worldwide every Sunday during “The Power of Revelation” television broadcast.  He also hosts a live, call-in radio show, “On Point,” every Saturday morning.

The new International Cultural Center is a $26.1 million 61,661 sq. ft.   facility that houses a 1,049 seat theater, Art Gallery, reception hall, seminar, and conference offices.
