OW -

Thanks for reminding folks of this disease and it's impact on our African American males.  I've not had my annual exam yet, but am due in June.

I'm lucky in terms of family cancer, we don't have it. But sugar and high blood are major issues.

I had my PSA test in late January, 2009, with a result of 1.23.  I have my PSA done twice a year, when I have to go to my doctor to renew my prescription for my Cholesterol meds to monitor my Liver functions.  They take blood to test my sugar, albumin, PSA and other tests.

My father will act like a child if my mother does not cook food the way he wants it.  Angry It's not easy to change eating habits but after a while you get use to it. You eat to live, not to enjoy it. We had our youth to enjoy foods, can't do it now. I can easily walk past the Blue Bell ice cream, hint, hint.  What's really bad is the fact that I'm an excellent cook. But I don't do it up unless it is the holidays or I'm cooking for others. On a typical day, my meats are broiled, no bread, and I watch the sides. No Mac & cheese in my house.

She needs to continue to cook healthy.  After about a week he'll eat it.  After two weeks she can feed him tofu and he'll be glad to get it.

Y you must not be very familiar with county black men. They will cut the fool if you mess with their food. I'm talking about grabbing guns and clearing out the house and such. There was a famous story that happened in Anson County about 25 years ago. Old man killed wife, daughter, and someone else in the house because wife would not fry his pork chops the way he wanted them. That was the only time Anson county ever made Jet Mag.  nod
